10 Greatest Debuts In Modern Wrestling History
2. Ethan Page
AEW has done brilliant work in elevating some of the most popular indie wrestlers of this generation, but there have been some talents that were not given the chance to shine. 'All Ego' Ethan Page was always on the outskirts of things in AEW's booking, and so when he asked for his release in February 2024, it didn't come as a great surprise.
Expected to join the likes of Matt Cardona at the top of the independent circuit, Page stayed quiet for a full three months. On a random episode of NXT in May 2024, NXT World Champion Trick Williams found himself answering Lash Legend's accusations of attacking Noam Dar and Oro Mensah. As the lights went out, Williams was then mauled by Ethan Page, with NXT commentator Vic Joseph adding to the moment by exclaiming, "Wasn't he in AE..." before being expertly cut off by Booker T.
As Page gloated that it was he who took out Dar and Mensah, his glare down the camera and letting the world know that he was about to "whoop that Trick" was world-class. The Canadian is finally getting the spotlight that he deserves, and has been one of the most consistently high-quality performers in NXT (and WWE as a whole) ever since.
