10 Most Embarrassingly Bad Wrestling Promos Of All Time
3. Bobby Lashley: "The Legend Of The Bath Turd"
Bobby Lashley was one of Vince McMahon's infamous total-package-sure-thing-future-megastars, and we were therefore instructed to believe he was interesting. And he was, for his physique that strained credulity and his little tiny ears that looked like raisins pasted to his massive, Cretaceous skull. He wasn't spectacular in the ring, but he was far from the worst. If nothing else, Lashley was a guy that seemed like he could be molded into something. And then he opened his mouth.
Bobby Lashley had probably the best feud in his career with Finlay, a grizzled old veteran whose dirty tricks and ring savvy made him a natural foil for the powerful neophyte. After trying to murder each other several times, the two actually exchanged words.
"You say your name is Finlay and you love to fight," Bobby began, accurately recounting the name of his rival and one of his primary character traits. "Well, I say your name is Finlay, and you're a bathturd."
The last of Lashley's words crept out of his mouth like an effeminate phantom, essentially destroying any aura of toughness he may have previously exuded.
Honorable mention for Bobby's infamous "No!", which made this mountain of muscle sound for all the world like a petulant toddler categorically refusing to put away his crayons.
