10 Most Heart-Breaking WWE Moments Of The 2010s
6. Tegan Nox's Knocks
Tegan Nox made her name on the British independent scene as Nixon Newell, one of the premier female performers in the entire country.
Newell got the opportunity of a lifetime when she was invited to participate in 2017's Mae Young Classic. However, Newell never got this opportunity, because she tore her ACL before the tournament even began. She was replaced by American wrestler, Miranda Salinas.
Newell eventually recovered from her injuries and returned for the second Mae Young Classic in 2018 with her new name and a winning attitude.
Sadly, a new name wouldn't be enough to stop history repeating itself, and Nox suffered yet more injuries to her leg during her quarter final match with Rhea Ripley.
Despite tearing several ligaments in her leg, Nox valiantly carried on through the pain. Her face became more and more desperate as the match went on, as she fought to keep her dream alive. Sadly, she was unsuccessful and had to withdraw from the match.
Nox's curse in the Mae Young Classic was deeply upsetting as it couldn't have happened to a more determined, hard working performer.
Nox's injuries didn't prevent her from getting signed to WWE and she has since competed for both NXT and NXT UK, but these injuries were still heartbreaking to witness and hopefully one day Tegan will actually get a decent run in the tournament.
