10 Most Unlikely Champions In WCW History

By Jamie Kennedy /

1. Judy Bagwell

Long before the likes of Bischoff, Russo, Ferrara and Arquette came a woman who would sully the reputation of the WCW Tag-Team Titles badly. The mother of Buff Bagwell, Judy incredulously goes down in history as a former Tag-Team Champion, even though she's about as credible as making a turnbuckle a titleholder. Looking to stick it to the nWo, Rick Steiner, who had won the belts with Buff only for 'The Stuff' to turn on him, initially chose Kenny Kaos as his new mate. When Kaos went down with an injury, Steiner was booked to do the only logical thing, bring in the big guns for his feud with one of wrestling's most dangerous factions. Yes, he chose Buff Bagwell's mother, and people in attendance on Nitro in October, 1998 sat stunned. Were WCW even trying anymore? Can this be directly attributed as the moment when the proverbial splatted against the fan? Just months later, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan would infuriate millions with the infamous 'Fingerpoke Of Doom' scenario, but at least they were wrestlers, what did Judy Bagwell have to offer? What other frankly bizarre champions do you remember from WCW? Do you remember any of the ones mentioned here? Let us know down in the comments section!
