10 New Directions For WWE After Night Of Champions 2026

7. IYO SKY Returning The Favour To Liv

There was no messing about on Saturday following the coronation of 2026's Queen Of The Ring: IYO SKY. The chirpy babyface with the stellar aerial attacks celebrated her victory then warned Liv Morgan that she fancies whipping her a second time come SummerSlam. In short, it'll be SKY vs. Morgan for the Women's World Title in Minnesota.

As Fred Durst once said, 'bring it oan'. "J'EAH!".

This writer can see IYO losing that one, largely because Liv hasn’t actually properly defended the gold since winning it herself. She's suffered from a lack of contingency planning once Stephanie Vaquer was struck down by injury in April. Apparently, that meant that Triple H didn't know what to do with Morgan, so cramming her into the Queen Of The Ring tourney despite being champ was the only play he had left.

WWE tried to drop hints about Liv winning the whole thing then going after (the also injured) Rhea Ripley's belt too over on SmackDown, but IYO came up smelling of roses in Riyadh as 'Queen' instead. SKY vs. Ripley is another bout that'll happen eventually, but probably not for a while.

It's IYO vs. Morgan first and foremost, and it's happening at SummerSlam. That won't be re-dubbed "SkySlam" though, because there's a solid shout for Morgan getting her win back and making the series 1-1. Oh, how Hunter loves his mini-series booking and 50/50 style. Fingers crossed the rematch is better than what we witnessed at Night Of Champions, at least.

It kinda has to be.
