This is a match that fans have been clamouring for ever since the Survivor Series WWE Championship tournament last November. In the two matches that made it to PPV, Reigns defeated his opponent to advance to the tournament finals but Owens did not. Immediately after Survivor Series, Owens was feuding with Dean Ambrose in a battle over the Intercontinental Championship, which left any potential PPV match with Reigns still on the table. It's clear that Owens will be feuding with Sami Zayn in the not-so-distant future, but beyond WrestleMania, Owens' future should remain open for other opponents. While Kevin may or may not be Reigns' first opponent heading into the new WWE year, he's one of the few heels currently on the main roster that fans believe in and would take seriously as a main event caliber match against Roman Reigns. Between recent Reigns' foes of Sheamus, Rusev, and the rest of the League Of Nations, the company will need to put forth a compelling program and a solid threat to Roman Reigns coming out of WrestleMania and Kevin Owens would fit into that role quite nicely.
