WWE fans are a fickle bunch, particularly the more casual audience. Daniel Bryan was huge last year, but this year there just isn't the same interest in him. Dave Meltzer even mentioned it in the Wrestling Observer, fans just didn't have the same gusto to force WWE to change their Mania plans with Bryan for Mania 31 like they did at Mania 30. The crowd noise has been less for the star. That's not to say he isn't still over big, because he is. He gets strong reactions. But even Meltzer has questioned how much of those reactions are for Bryan or for his Yes chant? Is it a case that fans just like shouting Yes? With fans losing interest, Bryan is in a position where his future is uncertain. So much of his act was built around the crowd, but he's slowly losing the grip on them that he once had.
