10 Reasons Money In The Bank Was WWE's Best Show Of The Year

3. AJ Styles/John Cena Was Booked To Perfection

John Cena's long-awaited meeting with AJ Styles was a work of booking art. The timing, the drama, the execution - there is no other way to describe this match other than pure perfection.

It should come as no surprise that the pair found instant chemistry given the competitors at hand. AJ has made a very healthy living out of being able to adapt to different styles and Cena has learned to work with opponents of all shapes and sizes over his illustrious career.

As good as AJ Styles was in this match, particular his display of technical wrestling and aerial ability, it was John Cena who stood out. Despite earning an uncounted pinfall, Cena spent the vast majority of the contest making AJ Styles look like he belonged in the same breath as him.

If there wasn't such a stigma against Cena, it would be lauded as one of the best individual displays in recent memory.

Thankfully the match's finish was fitting for such a wonderful contest. Plenty have complained about The Club's eventual interference that reaffirmed AJ's inability to beat Cena on his own, but at the end of the day, Styles is a heel. The match ended on a heel doing something a heel would do to get the win, and it was fantastic.
