This year's Royal Rumble could be weird.

The pandemic that ripped 2020 apart has continued into 2021, and that means this will likely be the second consecutive 'WrestleMania season' that takes place without a proper live crowd. That has to disappoint one Vince McMahon, but something else could leave the WWE boss with a pet lip too.

History could be made come this year's Rumble on 31 January, and numerous records could be smashed if the company deem it necessary. Hidden in amongst all those records (both recent and longstanding) is something that McMahon must secretly be proud of - it's a feat he probably thought would never be beaten and has lasted well over 20 years.

There's also a chance to stick it to an AEW defector. WWE, and specifically Triple H, may not be able to resist the urge to crotch chop in the direction of a former favourite, yell a quick "Suck It" and topple his Rumble magic forever. The question is: How determined are they to push Chris Jericho's legacy further away?

Here are all the records that could be broken later this month...

10. Most Combined Minutes In The Rumble

It must kinda' bug WWE that this guy is so far out in front.

Chris Jericho lasted a combined 4:59:33 in Royal Rumble matches during his time with the company, and it's gonna' be a task to oust him from the top spot. The nearest runners up are Triple H and Rey Mysterio; neither man is a spring chicken, so it'd take a monumental effort here.

It can be done though. Trips is a touch over the four hour mark (4:00:50) in total, and Mysterio isn't far behind at 3:56:47. If WWE want to, they could have either veteran work an injury spot so that they're technically still involved without actually having to work the full hour and change needed to become record-breakers.

They might never admit it publicly, but it'd taste rather sweet for WWE and Triple H to replace Jericho on top of this particular list. It's not like the AEW fave is gonna' add to his mileage in Rumble matches anytime soon.
