A seminal moment in wrestling history, the Montreal Screwjob has been a veritable gold mine for anyone who makes a living reporting on or talking about the industry, so in one sense it is wrong to say that it completely sucked.

But, with hindsight, Vince McMahon burning his bridges with Bret Hart - a deep-seated grudge that lasted nearly 15 years before they buried the hatchet before their WrestleMania match in 2010 - wasn't exactly a great thing for either party.

If you preclude the possibility of those involved sitting around a table and calmly discussing their differences like adults, however (which, given that this is wrestling we're talking about, is probably sensible), it may well have been the only option they could have taken at the time.
