5. Super Cena Stumbles Against The Great One €“ WrestleMania XXVIII

Once in a lifetime, they said... With The Rock and John Cena butting heads at €˜Mania XXVIII, near-enough every smart wrestling fan saw this match-up as a guaranteed Cena victory. The logic was that The Great One€™s brief return here was designed purely to give Cena a huge win over a legendary figure on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and there was no way that Big Match John, the franchise player and face of the present-day WWE, not to mention a man who barely ever loses when it matters, would lose to a wrestler-turned-actor who was returning to WrestleMania for the first time since €˜Mania XX in 2004. Of course, that is exactly what would happen, with Rocky getting the surprise clean 1-2-3 over Cena in Miami. Whilst modern wrestling fans like to think they know everything, what we didn€™t know here was that Rock/Cena II was being set up for the following year, which would see Cena get his win back.
