4. Hulk Hogan Doesn€™t Win The WWF Championship €“ WrestleMania IV

In the early years of WrestleMania, Hulkamania was well and truly running wild, brother. Every single show was built around The Hulkster, and every single big match was won by Hogan thanks to a mixture of saying prayers, taking vitamins, and training hard. Whether it was a €˜Mania, a Royal Rumble, SummerSlam or Survivor Series, it was always Hulk who was left standing tall and holding the WWF Title. So, when the vacant WWF Championship was up for grabs at WrestleMania IV, it was a no-brainer that the ever-familiar formula would be followed and Hogan would walk out of the event as the WWF Champion. Only he didn€™t. In fact, The Hulkster wouldn€™t even get past the quarter-final stage of the title tournament. After Hogan and Andre both got disqualified in their quarter-final match-up, the tourney would eventually come down to Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase in the final. Savage would win the match and become the WWF Champion, much to the welcome surprise of those who thought this whole tournament was going to be just another vehicle for Hogan to look strong. Then again, Hulk couldn€™t help but steal Savage€™s spotlight during the main event and the post-match celebrations, which would then lead to the team-up and eventual break-up of The Mega Powers over the next year.
