3. The Miz Shockingly Overcomes John Cena WrestleMania XXVII
The Miz, a reality TV star turned pro wrestler; somebody who had his humble WWE beginnings as a mere mic man before success followed in the shape of Tag Team and US Championship wins. But as a World Champion? Really? Really, really?! Despite all that's happened to the man since, for the year or so before Mania XXVII The Miz was absolutely gold. Transitioning from US Champion to eventually cashing-in his Money in the Bank briefcase and becoming the WWE Champion, Mike Mizanin was on fire. Still though, as good as he had been there was absolutely no way that he was going to retain his WWE Championship against Super Cena at WrestleMania XXVII. Even though he was legitimately knocked out during the match itself, The Miz would miraculously leave the Showcase of the Immortals with the WWE Championship in his hands courtesy of some interference from 'Mania host The Rock. Given who he was up against, many saw it as a formality that The Miz would be dropping the gold to John Cena come WrestleMania time. Unfortunately for his haters, Miz managed to somehow keep hold of the gold in what was a major shocker.
