10 Times WWE Did Something You Never Thought Possible

5. Causes Fans To Boo Rey Mysterio!!

If there's one person who seems to be beloved by every wrestling fan, from casual to hardcore alike, it's Rey Mysterio. This Luchador is an utter icon with plenty of accolades and a legacy that will never be forgotten. Thanks to this legacy, his colourful presentation and his long-lasting babyface status, the idea of booing him is an impossibility - save for one night.

This infamous moment came at the hands of the equally infamous 2014 Royal Rumble event. The titular match here drove fans into fits of rage as the predictable winner (Batista), and lack of a certain bearded underdog (Daniel Bryan) made them feel cheated. This all came to a head when the countdown to number thirty arrived - three, two, one, "booyaka, booyaka" cue the boos.

It was a shame to see Mysterio put in this spot, as fans weren't booing him but rather the lack of Bryan. Still, WWE's decision to put him at number 30 led to the infamously loveable masked man causing a whole stadium to erupt into a chorus of jeers and disappointment - something you'd never have thought possible.

Thankfully, WWE would learn from this mistake and never mess up a Royal Rumble this badly again. Oh, wait, no, of course they did.
