Making Sheamus King of the Ring in 2010 would've been SO much sweeter if during the tournament, he'd have knocked out Kofi Kingston and John Morrison with the Brogue Kick. The idea of setting up his finisher as being this unbeatable move that was clearly aided by something illicit in his boot is older than eternity, but could've added significant heat to his character. The rematches with John Morrison that Sheamus lost could've been a bit more entertaining if Morrison was finding ways to outsmart Sheamus, and maybe either getting kicked after matches or maybe even having Sheamus develop his Cloverleaf finisher at that point as a way to have a backup finisher if the Brogue Kick was ruled illegal. There's so much in how Sheamus presents himself as a wrestler that would make using old school concepts with his character inherently worthwhile.
