10. ECW's TV Revival

Idea: WWE's decision to resurrect the ECW brand for two stunning One Night Stand shows in 2005 and 2006 was lucrative. Seeing yet more dollars, the company decided to bring E-C-Dub back for good as a standalone third brand TV show to complement Raw and SmackDown in '06.

How It Was Ruined: WWE didn't book the original ECW, Paul Heyman did. His mad scientist approach hid weaknesses aplenty and turned shows like Hardcore TV into a smorgasbord of pop culture, teen angst, testosterone and weapons-filled brawls.

WWE's ECW had goofy gimps like The Zombie and exactly none of the underground culture feel of Heyman's old promotion. In one night, the majestic vibrance of Extreme became more like some crummy indy than WWE would care to admit.

ECW on Sci-Fi (now SYFY) was less Hardcore TV and more Sunday Night Heat from the off.
