10 Worst WWE Championship Reigns Of The 1990s
4. Kane (June 1998)
As with the previous entry, the demonic Kane should have had a much better maiden WWE title reign. However, not only was this reign rubbish, it was the only one he'd ever get.
Less than a year after his iconic debut at Badd Blood, Kane found himself in the main event of King of the Ring 1998. His opponent - 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. His prize - the WWE Championship. His punishment if he didn't win - he would set himself on fire. Unfortunately for fans of self-immolation, Kane won this First Blood match to claim the gold.
One day later on Raw, Austin got his rematch against the new champion. Surely this was done to give Kane another victory over the top star. Nope. Austin defeated the monster, ending his title run at just a single day.
Despite his many, many, many efforts over the next two decades or so, Kane would never reclaim the belt. He won the World Heavyweight Championship in 2010, but that was it.
For all the potential that was left on the table with this shortest of short championship reigns, it deserves your scorn.
