10 Wrestlers Who Could Talk You Into ANY Storyline

5. Randy Savage

Randy Savage has a legendary body of in-ring work, though just watching his match against Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat at WrestleMania III will serve as proof of his exceptional talent. He was also one of the greatest ever on the mic. Savage’s booming, gravelly voice is ingrained in pop culture, with people still parroting his “Oh Yeah” catchphrase while being ignorant to the man himself.

Every time Savage was in the vicinity of a microphone, he delivered. His promos were offbeat and seemingly a stream of consciousness, such as using a cup of coffee to belittle his WrestleMania III opponent.

In WWE, Hulk Hogan was Savage’s greatest rival. However, the feud didn’t transfer well over to the rival company. It resulted in little memorable moments in the ring. Yet, when both men were members of the nWo, the storyline tension between the two was a strong plot point that fans could latch on to. This would prove to be the case for much of Savage’s WCW feuds: “The Macho Man” would deliver on the mic but his advancing age, and that of most of his opponents, would leave much to be desired in the ring.
