10 Wrestlers Who Could Talk You Into ANY Storyline

4. The Rock

The Rock’s claim to the mantle “The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” is hard to dispute. Dwayne Johnson is a beloved Hollywood icon, and has took to mainstream pop culture like no wrestler before. He is a catchphrase machine, with his witticisms being tagged onto merchandise, video games, and most notably giving WWE’s blue brand its name.

The Rock is a diverse talker who mixes one liners, mocking impressions, and savage insults. It is no coincidence that The Rock and Mankind’s This Is Your Life remains WWE’s highest rated segment of all time. His verbal decimation of Billy Gunn is as iconic as it is brutal, enough to haunt the nightmares of anybody who’s ever laced up a pair of wrestling boots.

The Rock’s charisma was greatly beneficial when WWE served up his and John Cena’s “Once in a Lifetime” match for a second time. His mic skills also added some much-needed personality to his 2003 feud with Goldberg, and some weight to the nonsensical sub-plot in the “Who Ran Over Steve Austin?” storyline, in which Rikishi was exposed as the driver, claiming he did it for The Rock.
