10 WWE Matches Guaranteed To Put A Smile On Your Face
4. Kofi Kingston Vs Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania XXXV)
His 2010 push was famously curtailed by Randy Orton, but Kofi Kingston remained a model pro for the WWE in the following years. It seemed he may never be a main eventer, but Kingston still put on great matches, formed one of the company’s best stables, and continued to steal the show at the Royal Rumble on a yearly basis.
Then came WrestleMania XXXV, and the dream finally came true. Kofi Kingston actually won the WWE Championship in the match of the night against Daniel Bryan. This was a delightfully organic push (not dissimilar to Bryan’s own run five years prior), generating some of the best fan reactions in years.
The immediate aftermath of Kofi’s win is golden, as he celebrates in the ring with his New Day brothers and his two young sons. There can be few more deserving title winners in recent memory, and to do so in such a great match makes it all the sweeter.
The less said about Kofi’s title loss to Brock Lesnar a little way down the line the better, but no one could argue that this wasn’t an apt reward for such a dedicated and talented worker.
