10 WWE Matches Guaranteed To Put A Smile On Your Face

3. Royal Rumble (2020)

The 2020 Royal Rumble is memorable for two elements particularly. The first is its winner, Drew McIntyre, finally getting his due in the WWE. At 34, the Scot has already had what seems like several careers, but is an example of someone who stuck at it, worked hard and continually improved until his time finally came.

He was made to look the part by dumping out the dominant Brock Lesnar, and given a further boost in eliminating the ever-divisive Roman Reigns to win the thing. He went on to win the WWE Championship, and while the circumstances surrounding WrestleMania were far from ideal, he’s no doubt a worthy winner.

Even more amazing was the Rumble’s #21 entrant: Edge. The Rated R Superstar seemed to be one of the few wrestlers who’d never return, but, nine years after his last performance, return he did, with a surgically repaired neck and a physique suggesting he hadn’t been gone two weeks.

The pop is explosive, and his performance likewise. The look on the man’s face as he takes in the crowd response to his entrance is enough to warm the hardest of hearts. It’s great to have him back.
