10 WWE Stars' Best Non-WWE Matches
6. Bobby Roode (Vs. Austin Aries, TNA, 2012)
TNA's stock began to fall after the debacle that was the short-lived Monday Night Wars sequel in 2010, but it was still capable, from time to time, of doing what it did best: great wrestling.
And 2012 was the year the company, having seen its Hulk Hogan experiment end in disaster, at last stopped shining the light on its WWE cast-offs. Instead, they gave the World Heavyweight Championship to Bobby Roode - one of just a handful of truly great homegrown stars - and finally let him show what he could do as a legitimate top-level singles star.
The best match of the whole run, for many, was the one he shared with Austin Aries in the main event of Destination X, a classic no-frills face-versus-heel bout which ended with the underdog picking up a career-defining win.
