4. Shinsuke Nakamura (Vs. Kota Ibushi, NJPW, 2015)

Nakamura is yet to have a truly great match under WWE colours, according to some, but that's only because of the lofty standards he set himself during his decade-long association with NJPW, a company of which he was one of the trailblazers in the early 2000s.

The 'King of Strong Style' has a collection of NJPW bouts worthy of the "great" tag, but it was fitting that he saved perhaps the best of them all for his final full year with the promotion before packing his bags.

At Wrestle Kingdom IX, he fought and defeated the equally brilliant Kota Ibushi to retain his IWGP Intercontinental Championship, a match that ultimately went down as only the second best of the night, thanks to a stellar main event between Tanahashi and Okada.
