10 WWE Wrestlers Who Grossly Under-Achieved In 2017
5. The Ascension
For each of the last three years, The Ascension's annual report card has concluded, "must try harder" - but with television time so precious these days it's difficult for them to break out of their slump.
They fought on pay-per-view twice in 2017, to be fair - once in Elimination Chamber's tag title turmoil match back in February, and the second a defeat to Breezango that lasted under four minutes.
The unfortunate thing in all of this is that it could be too late for the duo to get an NXT reboot. They're both in their late 30s, and WWE now has a host of up-and-coming tag teams in the developmental ranks who are both younger and - thanks to better booking - far more over too.
For Konnor and Viktor, there's little indication that things will get better next year, but if there's hope it's perhaps in the fact that they weren't part of the autumn clear-out. Clearly, they still have some use to WWE - a feud with The Bludgeon Brothers perhaps?
