If Dean Ambrose is a 2017 under-achiever, then surely Seth Rollins - the man with whom he has been partnered for much of the year - must be as well, right?

Well, The Architect's year hasn't exactly been vintage either, but at least his report card will show a WrestleMania win over Triple H - and, let's not forget, the moment he helped knock Stephanie McMahon through a table.

Dean spent that same night fighting Baron Corbin in a pre-show match (and not even the pre-show's best match, either), marking what was a pretty sharp fall from the previous year, much of which he spent in the role of SmackDown's leading man.

There could be a long-term plan here, to be fair: the famously volatile Lunatic Fringe eventually becomes unhappy at playing Roman's back-up dancer and decides that he wants a go on the microphone, giving new impetus to his career. If so, we'll doff our hat to the creative team - but until then he's going through a rough patch.
