If we didn't know better, we'd almost be inclined to say that somebody backstage has it in for the Irish Lass Kicker. The fact that she's been cast in the lead role of the next Marine film is the latest piece of evidence to support that theory, but - aside from that - we haven't really heard anything concrete about any backstage fallings out.

Everything else - being in the first of 10 eliminated from the women's Survivor Series match, for instance - can perhaps be attributed to the fact that newer, more recent NXT grads currently hold more currency than someone who has been main roster for two and a half years.

Nevertheless, this has been a rocky 12 months for Becky, particularly when you consider that she spent much of the previous year fighting for the SmackDown Women's Championship, of which she became the inaugural holder in September.

Unless The Marine 6 performs really well in reviews (which is about as likely as a theatrical release), there won't be much from 2017 for her to shout about.
