82. Scotty Vick Is Katie’s Brother

Scotty Vick dodged a bullet here.

He inked a WWF developmental deal in 1999 following a stint as Sick Boy in WCW, but those at the tippy top didn't have a whole heck of a lot for Scotty to do on the main roster. Then, the Katie Vick saga began in late-2002 and someone in the office had an epiphany. It was an epiphany that could've resulted in serious embarrassment for the ex-Raven's Flock member.

Vick nearly debuted as Katie's kayfabe brother during segments with Triple H and Kane. They'd have seen him featured heavily on wrestling's number one show, but at what cost? Scotty would've been ridiculed and associated with an iconically bad WWE storyline. It was in serious poor taste, and is often cited as one of the worst ever.

Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), some underwhelming dark matches and the fact that angle was poorly received trashed WWE’s plans for Scotty. His only 3 matches in '02 came before tapings for Heat and Velocity against John Cena (as Prototype) and other scrubs like Shannon Moore, Rob Conway etc.

Apparently, WWE didn't see much in his tag-team with Sean O'Haire. They defeated Moore and Conway in a dark bout, then Vick wrapped up his run with the company by beating someone called Tyson Dux. He was cut loose soon after that, and the scheduled involvement in that Katie Vick story became a distant memory.

WWE clearly wanted to go much further than they did with the Katie and Kane ordeal. Thank God they didn't.
