75. Chelsea Green As “A Sexy Nun”

Workers like Chelsea Green can be victims of their own passion and adaptability. At first glance, that sounds ridiculous, because why would WWE overlook someone who wears their heart on their sleeve and can make almost anything work? It's a strange but true phenomenon. Not all the time, but certainly when it comes to Chelsea.

During her first run with the promotion, Green flooded the creative team with countless ideas. One of them revolved around the 'Messiah' character Seth Rollins was playing. Spotting the opportunity to get in on an act that had guaranteed minutes on major shows weekly, Chelsea pitched a 'sexy nun' sidekick who'd join Seth's flock.

WWE said no. Then, presumably, they called Green on her phone just to say no all over again.

Would this have worked out? Who knows, but Chelsea would've thrown her full weight behind it had management been willing to give the idea a bash. Other thoughts from Green's notes app on her phone included being Dominik Mysterio's girlfriend (hi, Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan), muscling in on The IIconics by putting on a fake Australian accent, becoming Daisy Dukes from the old Dukes Of Hazzard show/movies and more.

Those manning the creative controls didn't like any of those, so they cut Green loose in 2021 and didn't bring her back until 2023. She's earned her stripes since then, and did become the first ever Women's United States Champion, but WWE continue to ignore Chelsea's hand going up when top spots are being dished out to the female roster.
