11 Things We Learned From Triple H On Cody Rhodes' Podcast

3. His Pet Peeve With Modern Wrestlers

Triple H seemed to squirm in his seat a little bit when Rhodes asked if there’s something that grates on him with WWE’s roster today. The boss seemed hesitant to call his answer a “pet peeve”, but did say that his perspective, longevity and experience enables him to look at some points wrestlers argue long and hard for then say: “Dude, this is meaningless. You’re arguing and wearing yourself out mentally and emotionally over this point that is meaningless. Like, literally by next Monday’s show nobody is going to think about this again”.

He didn’t give a specific example or name, but said “it’s so many people”. It isn’t always him they’re arguing with either, but sometimes other agents/producers or workers in the locker room. Hunter doesn’t want those people to get to the end of a successful career and be bitter about something small: “The misery that people create for themselves based around certain places where they don’t get to...you create your own bitterness”.

Naturally, he thinks it’s a good thing that talent want to be ambitious, but “it bothers me for them” that nothing is ever good enough for some and they obsess over things that really don't matter all that much. The pic of LA Knight from Unreal's second season has been tacked on above just for reference, but Trips didn't name him on the podcast or anything.

It's a frame of reference amidst reports that Knight wasn't too chuffed with how things were going for him when that was filmed. Since then, LA has squashed the rumours.
