2. He’ll Never Tell Talent They Can’t Progress

Hunter elaborated to say he’ll never, ever sit a worker down and tell them they’ll never progress beyond the spot they’re in. Not only is that incredibly demotivating, but he just doesn’t know that for sure. How could he? Things can change in a heartbeat. Look at him! He went from cartoonish midcard heel to one of the biggest stars in the industry within a 4-5 year span, and that personal experience from someone who’s lived the struggle and the journey gives him balance when dealing with frustrated talent.

From there, Trips went off on a tangent with a gripping story about how Arn Anderson is viewed. The former Four Horsemen member is seen as a legend backstage and wrestlers put him a pedestal with few (if any) exceptions, but...Arn didn’t actually main event a whole lot unless he was tagging with Ric Flair.

Arn himself has used that as a teachable moment for younger wrestlers, because he enjoyed a very fulfilling and lucrative career without being the guy. Hunter wishes more people would relish the journey and appreciate their own achievements, but he does know how difficult that is when you're striving for bigger payoffs, main events and championships.

Few workers actually recognise what they've accomplished until the ride is over and they're sitting still with their own thoughts. He's hopeful that having guys like Anderson around to give perspective will actually help those on the roster realise just how valuable they are and how good the industry can be even if you're never World Champ.
