13 Mind-Blowing WWE WrestleMania 42 Predictions You NEED To Know
6. Brock Lesnar Announces Retirement Post-Match
Picture the scene: Brock Lesnar loses a power vs. power battle to rising star Oba Femi then looks disconsolate post-match. He stares at his hands like he doesn't even recognise himself anymore, then he cuts a Vader at Over The Edge 1998-style promo bashing his own skills post-match. 'Maybe Brock's time is over', he'd say.
Sans Vader's "big fat piece of s***" line, naturally.
Grabbing the mic, Lesnar would address the people succinctly but with hesitation in his voice. Picking up on what's coming, some in the audience would chant things like, "You've still got it" his way. That's when Brock would shock even Paul Heyman by implying that he plans to retire before 2026 is over with.
Clearly, this would be building towards a clash with Gunther, because the 'Ring General' has become something of a one-man retirement home for wrestlers. He's taken Bill Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles out of commission in the past year alone, and he's never made any bones about Lesnar being one of his dream opponents.
That's up next on Brock's farewell tour, then WWE can decide whether or not they want to pad Gunther's resume a little further by handing him another legend's skull on a silver platter. Seeing a 'Beast Incarnate' contemplate his own mortality now he's been chewed up and spat out by an even more fearsome warrior (Oba) would be a neat storyline for Lesnar heading into the summer months.
Various vignettes should show him telling WWE cameras to get the hell away from his house as reporters beg for answers.
