It'll be a nightmare for WWE to hold off on this any longer.

They had Oba Femi win King Of The Ring, then ridiculously side-stepped the “guaranteed” title shot at SummerSlam and went with HIAC vs. Lesnar instead. No, management can’t hold off much longer, because Oba is undeniable and could well be the guy who leads this company into the next generation. Brock just passed the torch to him by calling himself the past and Oba the future, so there can’t be anymore hold-ups.

Triple H shouldn’t run the risk of cooling Femi off too much before he’s on top of the mountain, and ‘Mania 43 might be too far away. Wade Barrett put it best when he barked: “We have a generational changing of the guard inside Hell In A Cell” after the match on Saturday in Minnesota.

Seizing anything other than the World Heavyweight Championship or WWE Title would feel less-than for Oba going forwards. He doesn't need to become Intercontinental Champ, but this guy did randomly think that Trips might have him squash Baron Corbin to become United States Champion just for the heck of it. No, don't do it. There's no need whatsoever, and that'd only weigh him down.

Sorry, but it'd take one hell of a distraction to keep Femi busy long enough to wait and have him win the Royal Rumble early next year. He's ready to ascend now, not between January-April 2027. It's understandable that WWE wants to take things slow, but they've already been dragging Oba back by palming off his KOTR win.
