10. Batista vs John Cena - SummerSlam 2008

At SummerSlam 2008, two champions of the highest degree met in a long anticipated contest. Since WrestleMania 21, John Cena and Batista were on parallel paths that led them to the top of Raw and Smackdown, respectively. They were the two biggest stars of WWE€™s post Attitude Era, although Cena was slowly beginning to pull ahead. Several weeks before SummerSlam, an errant right hand started a collision course to the mid-summer classic. Cena€™s promo detailing their similar steps made it clear this was no regular meeting of stars. Furthermore, the match was great because of its clean finish. Neither Cena or Batista didn€™t do a ton of losing then. It was a better than expected match that€™s grown in reverence in the subsequent years. Although neither man was an elite leader in the ring at this point, we saw power moves galore, and a shocking finishing sequence. This match is also famous for Cena breaking his neck during it. Who was the crowd cheering? - Batista in a close call.
