9. Bret Hart vs Rowdy Roddy Piper - WrestleMania 8

Back in 1992, Bret Hart was attempting to break through to the main event scene. As a former Intercontinental Champion, and Tag Team Champion, all he was missing was a rub from the top tier players of the day. At WrestleMania 8, he would get to face Rowdy Roddy Piper, who was in the midst of one of his many comebacks, for the Intercontinental Championship. After losing his belt to The Mountie, Roddy Piper quickly defeated the Canadian cop at the 1992 Royal Rumble. Piper vs Bret ended up being Bret€™s defacto rematch. Watching this classic back, this match stands the test of time as one of the best face vs. face matches ever, due to the great technical wrestling and brawling from both men, Bret Hart€™s bleeding and goldbricking, and Piper€™s constant struggle to remain a good guy throughout the contest. Not only was Bret Hart the first man to pin Piper clean, he invented a new finish no one had ever seen to do it. It cannot be said how much the blood added to this match. Bobby Heenan€™s commentary shifted from comedy to urgency and furthered the drama as said, €œI thought it would be good, but not this good€THIS IS A HELL OF A MATCH!€ Indeed, it was. Who Was The Crowd Cheering? Bret Hart, after Piper heeled it up by grabbing the ring bell.
