15 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 42

9. Bron Breakker Hunting Down Seth Rollins

Bron Breakker returned at ‘Mania to spear Seth Rollins just when it looked like Seth had things well in hand vs. Gunther. Then, as if replacing Edge as WWE's ultimate opportunist, Gunther put him in a sleeper and that was that. This was another banner win for the 'Ring General', albeit with a big ol' asterisk next to it due to Bron's interference.

WWE will be glad to have Breakker back. They badly wanted to do Rollins vs. Bron before, and now they’ll get their chance. Don't be too bowled over if you see Breakker as World Heavyweight Champion before the summer is out. Reportedly, he was set to face CM Punk in Vegas before injuries robbed him of that platform.

On Saturday, Bron said: “You should’ve put me down when you still had the chance”. That'll be the story for his rivalry with Rollins. Breakker is representative of the new breed of WWE stars, and Seth is firmly in old guard territory by 2026. Yep, that'll make those who still think his WrestleMania 31 cash in was yesterday feel very, very old.

Time moves fast, huh?

Choices, choices, choices though. Do WWE pull the trigger on Breakker vs. Rollins at Backlash? Or, do they hold off on booking it for a while longer? SummerSlam could be too far off after 'Mania's spear, but it's way better to have these options than none at all. That's almost definitely what management will be thinking coming out of the weekend's PLE.

Roll on Bronson Reed's return as well. That'll be just as welcome.
