17 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (April 16)
WWE disses Cesaro; Roman Reigns teases Goldberg; SmackDown star gets renamed.
The first WWE SmackDown episode post-WrestleMania 37 hinted that Cesaro might challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title. Twitter's favourite wrestling machine stepped up to confront Roman, then beat Jey Uso by DQ when old foe Seth Rollins attacked him from behind.
Did you spot WWE dissing Cesaro in amongst all that? Maybe not. Paul Heyman somehow managed to highlight what Vince McMahon really thinks about the Swiss grappler and insult the most hardcore members of the fanbase in just one promo. That takes skill, but most watching SmackDown probably missed it.
Other hidden gems you may well have skipped included Reigns teasing a 'Mania match that got away, new colour commentator Pat McAfee popping the Gorilla position by doing his best Vinnie Mac, Rey Mysterio almost breaking his own neck (thank God for his athleticism) and one SmackDown newcomer getting a brand new ring name.
Dolph Ziggler also mimicked Bianca Belair, Cesaro told Jey Uso to take things easy right at the end of the show, and WWE might've just accidentally told you what's about to happen with Sonya Deville.
Here's everything you probably missed from the latest blue brand effort...
