Jerry Flynn was one of those WCW signings that confused the entire wrestling community. The man had a Martial Arts background, but that didn't really help him fit into the world of professional wrestling. This had been shown through numerous appearances for the WWF in the mid-90's, where Flynn appeared as enhancement talent. It really seemed that the only reason he was hired by WCW was because the WWF had used him. He had a good look, granted, but Jerry Lynn was not the kind of performer WCW fans enjoyed watching. His matches were rarely even grappling bouts, instead being peppered by kickboxing techniques and other Mixed Martial Arts he had trained under. Maybe the most notable point in his career came when Flynn had his hair cut off backstage by heel manager Sonny Onoo. That's not really a whole lot to remember someone by, and Jerry Flynn is often missed off of lists discussing the WCW roster of the late-1990's. By 2000, Vince Russo tried to book him in a shoot-style program against Tank Abbott, and the promotion's fans responded with severe apathy. Come April of that year, Flynn was off television, and never regularly wrestled in North America again.
