3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (12 June - Results & Review)

3. Broken Miz Is Some Laugh
You’ve got to give it to The Miz.
He’s willing to completely clown himself just to be a valuable asset to WWE and fit the storyline he’s working with Danhausen and Kit Wilson. Seeing him stuck in ‘old Miz mode’ and only capable of repeating crusty catchphrases was funny. Nah, this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but wrestling is a variety show and it’s clear this isn’t meant to be anything more than a midcard distraction.
It's certainly miles funnier than the Gingerbread Man fluff previously with Trick Williams and Sami Zayn. Now, presumably, Kit will revert to his Pretty Deadly character after being electrocuted. That'll lead to even more goofy fun WWE can use to break up intense matches or promos on SmackDown in coming weeks. Bring it on. Yes boy.
Older fans may get a kick out of this reference too, but Miz had a subtle air of Planet Stasiak from 2002 about him - his hair was standing on end, he was on another planet mentally, and he seemed to be talking to himself rather than addressing anybody else in the room with him. That had poor Kit stressed out of his damn mind. All we needed here was a Ron Simmons-inspired cameo to yell that word.
Darn, or whatever it was. Who can really remember?
Seriously though (ha, as if any of this is serious!), Danhausen is killing it in these segments. He's ably backed by a veteran who doesn't mind fooling around, and Wilson's own silliness. Wherever this is leading, it's working for now.
