4 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 17)
Jurassic Express challenge; Rampage goes multi-man crazy; AEW's logic is skewed.
This week's AEW Rampage went multi-man daft.
Tony Khan also sandwiched a women's submission match between an 8-man and 10-man tag. Did it work? Well, the 'Ups' count suggests that this was a killer episode, but AEW really need to be careful with some things they're doing on these shows. Unfortunately, a lack of logic and some messy formatting hurt the one-hour weekly.
All Elite's roster is littered with talented-enough wrestlers though - they can offset a lot, and they did again here. Plus, Rampage had a comeback performance to be proud of, and the women made the most of some stingy time. Then, following the main event 10-man, AEW set about the task of readying fans for a babyface vs. babyface clash over the tag straps.
That was good stuff too.
There wasn't quite as much balance between good and bad as last week, which is worth pointing out. Being honest though, Friday's Rampage was lower on star power than some recent episodes; fans may argue that Adam Cole, The Young Bucks and Eddie Kingston say otherwise, but all of those names were more bit-parts than leading men.
