4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SummerSlam Night 2 (Review & Results)
DOWNS…
4. Not A Good Night For Lash
There will be some praise to heap onto the ladder match for the Interim WWE Women’s Championship (even though there should be some points deducted for WWE suddenly doing an interim title after decades of never doing this before and setting a new precedent they almost certainly won’t follow).
But we have to lodge some criticism toward Lash Legend and her performance in the ladder match. Lash had numerous sequences where she looked completely lost. Early on, she and Charlotte Flair had an exchange that could politely be described as embarrassing. She fumbled about a couple more times during the match before finally settling down and delivering a few nice spots, including the powerbomb off the top through a ladder bridge to Tiffany Stratton.
Overall though, Legend was the clear weak link in this match. To be fair, she was competing in her first ladder match and has competed mainly in tag and multi-woman matches this year. (Only five of her last 20 televised matches have been singles bouts.)
Lash Legend has a bright future, so hopefully this is a learning opportunity for her to focus on the positives and learn from the hiccups.
