2. Good Wrestlers Have Good Match
Is anyone shocked that Chad Gable and JD McDonagh had a pretty good little match on the outskirts of JD being electrocuted by Danhausen and Gable running around in a luchador mask?
Gable and McDonagh delivered a solid, if unspectacular match, with JD lighting the Olympian up with a Spanish Fly and a brainbuster, only for Gable to counter by tenaciously grabbing an anklelock and holding it until McDonagh tapped.
While there was nothing revelatory about their match, Gable looked pretty good here, filling the role of babyface pretty well and seemingly enjoying himself. Call it another good baby step forward for Chad that hopefully will continue.
As for Judgment Day, their night went from bad to worse, as Danhausen had refused to uncurse JD or make amends with the group, so they trashed his laboratory. Danhausen responded by giving them a briefcase of money… which promptly exploded in JD and Dominik Mysterio’s faces.
Dumb, silly fun, which is sometimes needed. The Danhausen stuff has a shelf life, but we’ll give this positive marks here.
