5 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Won WWE Title On RAW

Timing is everything and WWE were dangerously close to running out of an opportune time to crown Roman Reigns WWE Champion. Yes, technically he won the title a few weeks earlier at Survivor Series, but his failure to walk out with the championship made his quest to the top of the mountain just that - a failure. With any other superstar WWE might have wanted to crown champion, the company probably wouldn't have scrutinized and counted every championship match that the talent was involved in. For the Ambroses, Zigglers and Bryans of the world, they could be thrown into countless WWE Championship matches in which they were unsuccessful without it being seen as detrimental to their future. With Roman Reigns, however, the company's golden goose and heir apparent, it was clear that WWE had a vision for him and that vision did not include numerous title opportunities in which Roman came up short. The championship match loss at TLC was obviously enough. The minute the match was announced on RAW, there was simply no way Reigns wasn't walking out of Philadelphia with the title. It also didn't hurt that the RAW after TLC would emanate from the city that played a big part in Roman Reigns' career thus far (but more on that later). It's amazing how focused WWE can be in their planning and how important wins and losses become when they're booking their favorite superstars like Roman Reigns. If only they took this approach more often and with regards to more talents, they'd have a helluva show...
