5 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Won WWE Title On RAW

1. Vince McMahon's Ego

The biggest reason why Roman Reigns won the WWE Championship on the RAW after TLC surely has to do with the city they were in and Vince McMahon's ego. McMahon knew exactly where they were at that night as WWE always makes an effort backstage, usually for the talents' benefit, to point out the events that had taken place in that city previously. Vince likely traced all of the problems associated with Reigns' failed 2015 back to the Royal Rumble that took place in Philly in January. It's well-documented how Philly's reaction was the catalyst that lead to Vince's WrestleMania plans being thrown out, and he remembered every bit of it. Sitting in Gorilla backstage at the Walls Fargo Center, Vince probably thought to himself "Oh, you don't want my guy? You don't want Roman Reigns? Well you're not only gonna get Roman Reigns, but by the time I'm done, you're gonna love Roman Reigns and thank me for it!". Sitting in the arena that night, it was obvious that Vince got what he wanted. As Roman laid out the 70 year-old Chairman with a Superman punch and covered Sheamus for the 1-2-3, the Philadelphia crowd erupted with excitement at not only seeing the WWE title change, but at the notion of Roman Reigns being the man to win it. Vince McMahon usually gets the last laugh, and Monday night in Philadelphia was no different.
