5 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (24 June)
2. Rosemary Vs. Kiera Decays
Objectively, Rosemary vs. Kiera Hogan had some decent stuff intertwined in it. There was a basic face vs. heel scenario that worked perfectly when you add Tasha Steelz into Kiera's corner, backed up furthermore when Havok came to ringside to back up 'The Demon Assassin'. It's clearly leading to a Knockouts Tag Team Championships, potentially at Slammiversary. You're right to get excited about the story.
Not the match, though.
At various points throughout, it felt entirely like Rosemary and Kiera were merely going through the motions as opposed to the match flowing perfectly. Rosemary melodically climbing onto the ring apron to allow Tasha Steelz to yank her ankles out from under her didn't work, even more so when the Decay member sold it as if she'd been shot. Furthermore, as the match concluded, 'The Hottest Flame' connected with two stiff kicks, and then Rosemary just won via Wing Clipper. What?
Again, if you look at this from a story arc perspective, it's not that terrible. As a match, however, it wasn't up to par with what the pair are capable of. This isn't screaming championship-quality match, if that is the route we're going down.
