WWE falls into bad booking habits; Roman rubs off on Jey, Rollins lays out stakes for Saturday.
If you turned on Monday Night Raw in the hopes that WWE was going to turn around the past few months of booking and a television product that has vacillated from “good” to “uggh,” you probably came away disappointed.
WWE in 2025 is nowhere near as bad as 2019 WWE, but it’s pretty clear that 2023-24 WWE is in the rear-view mirror. The company has fallen back into bad habits with its booking. The main event scene is stale, repetitive and extremely low-stakes on a week-to-week basis. And the wrestling – once a huge bright spot where the best match on Raw could give AEW Dynamite’s best a run for its money – has fallen off tremendously
Raw on Monday night had a few good moments, including a couple really great segments, but the show was dominated by lazy, in-show booking, a hugely disappointing main event, a flat opening segment, and average wrestling. It’s hard to get hyped about that.
Even with a few positives coming out of Raw, the show overall left a bad taste in the mouth. There always will be bright spots, glimmers of what could be, but it feels more and more like the “new normal” will be mediocrity.
