2. Oba Carries The Day
Let’s face facts: Bronson Reed is a mere side quest for Oba Femi as WWE tries to stretch out this journey to a world title match.
Still, Oba is such a compelling dude that he made the mini-rivalry with Reed sound interesting as he absolved Big Bronson of his ignorance. It wasn’t Reed’s fault that he made the foolish decision to step up to Femi – he was out of action for the past seven months, so he wasn’t around when the torch was passed to Oba, and he doesn’t understand that Femi is the captain now.
Femi then challenged Reed to a match at Money in the Bank, which Bronson obliged, signing the contract and saying he was coming to dethrone The Ruler. (This was decidedly the weakest part of the segment, with Reed not saying anything of note or interest.)
Oba even hung a lampshade on Paul Heyman’s ridiculous repeated line asking if Femi is still breathing, noting that Heyman is “playing games,” sending Bronson to stop “the one man he knows cannot be stopped.”
Just give this dude the title already. It’s not like Roman Reigns is doing anything with it beyond using it as a doorstop. The Tribal Chief certainly isn’t carrying on as the leader of Raw – much less his own Bloodline.
