3. Two Pros Deliver
The parade of “perfectly acceptable wrestling” also included a confrontation between Lyra Valkyria and Iyo Sky.
Iyo has been in this strange purgatory where she is regularly on television, still wrestling, still winning most of her matches, and yet she doesn’t seem to be positioned for a title match. Lyra, conversely, has been losing a decent amount of her matches (that don’t involve Bayley) and is loudly complaining that she isn’t being positioned for a title match.
The two collided on Raw in a solid back-and-forth match that saw both women gain advantages over the other as they engaged in a battle of counter-offenses. Iyo threw off Lyra’s attempted tornado DDT, but Valkyria managed to roll through on a charge to hoist Sky up for a Nightwing. However, Iyo rolled through and hit a double stomp and a head kick on Lyra.
The finish saw Lyra block a moonsault and set up for Peripeteia, only for Bayley to appear at ringside (the feud must continue), which distracted Valkyria enough to allow Iyo to hit the moonsault for the win.
Good enough match, even with the tacked-on finish. Maybe we’re just feeling a bit generous.
