2. A Perfectly Serviceable Main Event

WWE

A Vision main event has spelled eyerolls and groans for the past year, but Monday night’s closing contest between Seth Rollins and Austin Theory managed to deliver a decent showing.

After Seth spent the first two minutes repeatedly going for the stomp to finish quickly, Theory posted Rollins’ right ankle and attacked it throughout the match, rendering his finisher moot. Rollins tried a couple of times for the stomp, but clearly could not pull it off, so he played defense a bit, countering Theory’s rolling dropkick with a powerbomb and avoiding Austin’s attempted stomp and hitting a clothesline.

Logan Paul predictably got involved, feeding Theory his brass knuckles, but Rollins got hold of them. However, the referee caught Seth, nullifying that brief advantage. However, Rollins managed to land the Pedigree for the win, dipping into his arsenal to finish Theory.

Afterward, the Vision and the Street Profits ran down for the save one at a time, ending with Bron Breakker wiping out everyone and threatening to maim Seth Rollins with the ring steps before officials interceded.

While a rematch between Breakker and Rollins isn’t exactly a hot property, it still could help Bron ifWWE learns from Backlash and books the match correctly.
