6 New Directions For Rusev After WWE Clash Of Champions 2016 Defeat
2. A Move To SmackDown Live
Maybe this is just because I dearly want a 20+ minute headline match between Rusev and AJ Styles, and the Bulgarian performer could well benefit from a move over to SmackDown. Sure, this would put him dangerously close to John Cena and Dolph Ziggler, but getting away from Monday nights and the United States Championship may be what he needs.
Fresh matches a-plenty await him, in the shape of bouts with AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and a host of others. It is far too early for individuals to start switching brands willy nilly, but before the brand split Rusev seemed like an individual poised to benefit from the split. This is yet to happen.
SmackDown just seems like the place where new main event performers can be born. Rusev fits this category to a tee.
