A face turn could very well be just what Rusev needs. Ever since arriving in NXT way back in 2012, the former Alexander has existed as a bad guy only, representing a long time in one role for a (potentially at least) major player. There would obviously need to be correct context for this, but why not give it a go?

Because the truth is Rusev has been a secret babyface for well over a year now. For a long time the only bad guy tendency he displayed was being anti-America and friends with Sheamus. He has won match after match legally and cleanly, frequently defended the honour of his wife Lana and stood up for that which he believes in.

Heck, he managed to come out of a love quadrangle designed to make everyone look terrible as a good guy.

Rusev also finds himself as an immensely popular performer with certain sections of the so-called 'smart' or 'internet' fanbase. The man has given some absolutely fantastic interviews over the past couple of years, and whenever he has been allowed to display his personality he has hit home run after home run.

He also just so happens to be immensely athletic for a dude of his size. Who wouldn't love to see Rusev wrecking shop as a babyface? Add this to the fact crowds have wanted to cheer Lana for well over a year now, you have something of a no-brainer. RAW doesn't have a major pure babyface, at least until Sami Zayn is given the ball; give them Rusev.
